Saturday Video

Catatonia were a Welsh band with a prominent female lead singer, Cerys Matthews. Her girlish vocals counterbalanced the typical late 90s sound of post-Britpop.

They were a MORE than minor UK success when I was last there in those long ago days of 1999, and have now since broken up. This song "I Am The Mob" was one of several UK hits and is, coincidentally, The Angry Ballerina theme song.

I'll be over at The American Street later today. Send me some love and let me sleep another precious six hours before I have to go to work!

Is it just me, or do buffalo wings taste just like chicken?

I don't think you are at all uncommon in that viewpoint, Dr. Z. :-)

I hadn't thought about this band for a while now... thanks!

I really like the song "road rage" and played the hell out of it on a mixed CD circa '99 or '00.

Either you weren't concentrating at the time or you're just not thinking straight: but Catatonia's success far surpassed the hights of this song.

Their two biggest hits were Road Rage and Mulder & Scully. At the time, the had more than 'minor success'.

But, alas, they are no more.

D'oh!

Thanks muse-ic for the correction!

There were practically unknown over on these shores, which is when my American perspective skews my recollection.

No worries; after I posted that I suddenly realised that you probably weren't British...whoops!

My bad.
