Observation

One of the things I enjoyed the most about viewing German-language cinema is that the characters looked so, well, commonplace. There is, I might add, nothing wrong with that. How refreshing to not be bombarded with standards of beauty which are as unhealthy as they are completely unrealistic. I really wish that media told young women, in particular, that it's okay to be average. There are other subtle differences, too.

Allow me to illustrate.

*Okay, maybe it's not all different.

Still, superficiality and stale formula have got to go.

Interesting. Definitely more pronounced with women though. We have a very unrealistic idea of female beauty.

Amen to that. The ideals are ridiculous.
