Where I Am Today

This morning, I am having a surgical procedure peformed. Before I do, I was treated with an extensive, week-long regimen of antibiotics. The surgery will be done on an outpatient basis, but my primary concern is how painful it's going to be after the anesthetic wears off, then quickly followed by how long it will take to heal. Sitting down might be a challenge for a while.

So, this is why I'm not blogging today. Have a good weekend, everyone!

EDIT:

As it turns out, the procedure will be more involved and invasive than I thought originally. Nothing medical was performed today, aside from a consultation, but I will be having to return in two weeks for surgery. This will not be a minor procedure. I'll have to be put fully under for close to an hour, then have a 6-8 week recovery period with which to contend. Pain pills will be prescribed and taken in copious quantity.

I'm not looking forward to this, but I have no other choice. A course of antibiotics lessened the infection greatly, but it will only worsen again if surgery is not performed soon.
