State of the Kevin

Today, at long last, is my MRI. I've been instructed to not eat or drink anything two hours before, to show up an hour early, and to be prepared to be injected with dye so that certain areas of my brain will be highlighted by the scan.

Good thoughts, prayers, well-wishes, and the like are appreciated.

The MRI was undertaken to determine whether I have a pituitary tumor. A month ago I was diagnosed with low testosterone due to hypogonadism.

Further tests revealed that the problem was with the pituitary and the hypothalamus. So, I've been on testosterone for the past four weeks and they're still trying to determine the cause of the deficiency.

Hi Kevin,
I haven't been checking my blog much recently as I've been so busy with moving house and job but I'm sorry to hear you've been so unwell. I hope you're feeling a bit better by now and that the MRI helps to determine the cause, and get you a solution.

Happy Thanksgiving as well! We don't have a holiday for thanksgiving in the UK but I remember at school we used to have a harvest festival every year and I think the idea of giving thanks for our food, and just giving thanks in general, is so important.

Best wishes,
Kathryn
