The moment her thoughts
her desires
her longings
begin ever so slightly to stray
to linger elsewhere
or to question
or to doubt
you'll see the wedding pictures.
(I mean, literally,
you'll SEE the wedding pictures
on public display)
overcompensating
how worthy he is
how much she misses him
how glad she is for him
how many years it has been
it hasn't always been easy
but I have seen the
looks given when he is
not present
and I know
the heat of jealousy
as it spreads
across the room
fuming facial features
with frequent reminders
of previous engagements
mistakes will be made.
