Quote of the Week
"No servant can serve two masters, because either he will hate one and love the other, or be loyal to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and wealth!"- Jesus of Nazareth.
Actually it says Mammon, "Ye cannot serve God and Mammon", in two places Matthew and Luke. As a young man i thought it meant tits. So i began to worship tits, ya know, sos to only have one master, so to speak. Damn, I'm screwed.
Me thinketh I'm screweth too. Should have not fallen asleep in bible school if I had actually attended bible school in my youth. Yeah to the parent unit who didn't find religion until after I left the house.
How right you are, Punch. But Mammon, literally translated means "money or wealth". As for breasts, well, I can think of many men who serve the pursuit of the mammary gland.
Neither Here Nor There,
Occasionally that Jesus fellow had some really good things to say.
Thanks Comrade, where the hell were you in my sunday school class? And if you don't think the worship of Breasts is the worship of money, well maybe i should have been in your sunday school class, kind sir.
Ahh yes, Penelope, as it turns out she did seem to attract money. Man alive when she bent over, in that sweater, whooohahh, well that's why it is called a sweater.
I made Velvet go to Sunday School until he begged to stay home because I believed it was a sure fire way to prevent him from becoming an adolescent evangelist telling me I'm going to Hell in my own living room.
Once he went to the Hippy Dippy Quaker Camp and I attended my first silent meeting in the woods - well, I haven't been nearly as harsh about Jesus. I'm completely sold on the idea that if people will simply hush, they might learn something.
I'm sure he does. I grew up with exposure to multiple religions and have basically have come to a conclusion of "Love, respect and accept all". Think this world would be better off if that was preached more in all religions.
