Quote of the Week

My apologies about this being late in arriving. My girlfriend and I are trying to squeeze every last ounce of time together before I depart for Birmingham on Thursday evening. Who knows how long it will be before I return to DC?

It is a pity that, as one gradually gains experience, one loses one's youth.- Vincent Van Gogh.

*I suppose my response is this. Stay young without being foolish and use the wisdom of age without becoming complacent and intractable.

  1. Very true words, and I like the codicil about not becoming intractable.

How are you and your girlfriend going to manage the long-distance thing? I was forgetting you weren't going to be in DC indefinitely!

  2. Hey Mauigirl!

Well, she wishes to keep it going and is convinced she can help me find a job and a place to stay here. The decision is always hers, of course, and I've told her that if she feels like she can't handle being apart from me for a potentially long while, she has every right to get out. That's only fair, I think.

  3. Hi Kevin-

I didn't realize you were through with the study. How time flies, huh?
Are you considering relocating to DC? Change can be good - ya know?

  5. The good thing about long distance romance is that if you really want to be together, you'll figure out a way to get back there. And if you don't, then you're already apart anyway.

Buzz Kill and I were apart for months at the beginning until I moved to New York. As they say, wild horses couldn't have kept me away. Even though my biological clock was ticking so loudly I was partially insane, we were together nearly twenty year, and Velvet makes it all worthwhile.

Liberality and Utah gave me a Sisterhood award. Maybe it's supposed to be for girls, but I wanted to pass it on to you like a bloggy sister/bro.
