By a strange coincidence this afternoon, whilst cataloguing some correspondence, I came across a letter written by Lindsay Anderson to Charles Drazin (lecturer in Film Studies at Queen Mary University, London, and writer on film) - the subject of the letter - an article which Drazen has written about Robert Hamer! In the letter Anderson praises 'Kind Hearts and Coronets', and, like you, points out that Michael Balcon had to be convinced of the potential of the film.
