The problem was being too overqualifed and their fear of me not staying long term for crap pay. I was wiling to accept crap pay for work. Wouldn't have stayed once the economy picked up.Neither Here Nor Therehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11856682221258717993noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12310464.post-46202017535104840842009-07-18T11:59:14.615-05:002009-07-18T11:59:14.615-05:00Since the current system lays the burden of health...Since the current system lays the burden of health insurance costs on the employer, that adds several hundred dollars per month per employee for insurance costs. With small businesses also struggling, folks who would like to provide for their employees can't afford insurance any more than the employees can. Some larger employers, like print and online news outlets, can lay off their permanent workers then hire the same people to work free lance with no insurance and save thousands and thousands of dollars. It sucks no matter which way you look at it.

This current system is bullshit for everyone except the robber barons who make money off health care.

I don't know if it's time to march on Washington DC or not, but since so many of us are unemployed we've got the time, if not the financial resources, to get to that mall one more time.

It's great that people can connect and share opinions via the internet, call congresspeople and send emails - but an ocean of discontented humanity outside their windows may have more impact.PENolanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17920921974302444898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12310464.post-91945449076337403582009-07-17T20:05:16.472-05:002009-07-17T20:05:16.472-05:00Hearing about some of the petty, greedy small-mind...Hearing about some of the petty, greedy small-mindedness of employers as they react to the economy, it appears that many of them are simply the last bastion of the late, unlamented presidential administration. We can only hope that they, too, will get voted off the island sooner than later. Your analysis of the job market is spot on though and it is incredibly frustrating to know that qualified people cannot find jobs because there are so many qualified people looking for jobs. Hopefully you will find something soon.joshhill1021https://www.blogger.com/profile/00262725763812594725noreply@blogger.com
